Alpine Loop Scenic Backway

Settled in Utah’s scenic Uinta National Forest, the Alpine Loop Scenic Backway is a hike that starts at around 5,000 feet and goes all the way up to the canyon’s summit at 8,000 feet. If your family is particularly adventuresome, then they can tackle this hike in a single day, but there are great places to picnic at points all along the trail.

American Fork Canyon

Along the Alpine Lop Scenic Backway is the American Fork Canyon, a hidden treasure of this area. The American Fork Canyon gives amazing views and is a great place to hike, fish, boat, camp, and countless other outdoor activities.

FHE Shows

Located at the Monte L. Bean Museum in Provo, these shows exhibit over 2.8 million natural species that have been collected from around the globe. Families that are looking to save some money will enjoy free admission and free shows with the museum open until 9 p.m. most nights.

Orem Owlz Family Night

During the summer, the Orem Owlz minor league baseball team holds family nights during every Monday home game. Family packages typically include up to 5 tickets, 5 hot dogs, and 5 sodas for as low as $45. Anyone with a Seven Peaks Pass of All Passes will have free general admission to all regular season games.

Aquatic Centers

There are a number of aquatic centers throughout Utah County, and many of them offer amazing family rates for as low as $16 for mid-week passes. Some of the most popular pools include Lindon Aquatic Center and Provo Recreation Center and Pool.

Bridal Veil Falls

This is a spectacular 670 foot double cataract waterfall that has dumped millions of gallons into the Provo River. The falls can be seen from HWY 189, but most families will want to pull off and explore this amazing part of nature for a few hours.

Camp Floyd

Built by the army in 1858, Camp Floyd is a stagecoach and fairground area with family-friendly events every month. Depending on when you are in Utah County, you will have affordable options such as battlefield reenactments, pioneer living demonstrations, trade shows, and more.
